USCIS Payment Changes

New Era in USCIS Payments

Starting October 28, 2025, USCIS will no longer accept checks or money orders. Payments must now be made via ACH bank transfer or credit card only.


Visa Application Changes

Major Change in Visa Applications

Tourist, student, and work visas can now only be applied for through the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s country of citizenship or residence. Scheduling appointments from other countries is no longer allowed.


H-1B Visa Fees

$100,000 Annual Fee for H-1B Visas

Companies will pay $100,000 USD annually for H-1B employee visas. This fee applies to new applications.


Gold and Platinum Card Programs

Gold and Platinum Card Programs

  • Gold Card: Individuals donating $1 million will receive expedited processing for immigrant visas. Companies can sponsor employees with a $2 million donation.
  • Platinum Card: Donors of $5 million will gain the right to stay in the U.S. for 270 days per year with tax exemptions.

Asylum Application Fees

Fee Required for Asylum Applications (I-589)

A $100 application fee is now mandatory for asylum filings. The fee must be paid annually while the case is pending.


CDL Restrictions

CDL Restrictions for Foreign Drivers

Asylum seekers, refugees, work permit holders, and DACA recipients are no longer eligible for CDL licenses. Existing licenses remain valid until expiration.


Government Shutdown Impact

Government Shutdown

The federal government shutdown has impacted immigration processes:

  • Work visas (PERM, LCA, H-1B)
  • Immigration court hearings
  • Consular visa and passport services

All these processes have been significantly delayed.
